AUA Flight Attendants’ Earnings: How Much Do They Make?

The AUA is currently advertising flight attendant positions, offering full-time employment to those who complete two months of training. The gross annual salary for this position is 31,080 Euros, which translates to a net monthly income of 1,717 Euros. Benefits for this role include an included uniform and the opportunity to work in one of Europe’s most livable cities.

In order to be eligible for this position, applicants must have a high school diploma or completed vocational training, be fluent in English, hold an EU passport or have unrestricted access to the Austrian labor market, and reside close enough to the airport to reach it within 90 minutes when on call. After five years of service as a flight attendant, individuals can expect to earn 2,337 Euros gross (1,769 net) including flight allowance, regardless of the number of long- and short-haul flights taken.

Upon reaching ten years of service as a flight attendant with the AUA, the gross salary will increase by 300 Euros. The maximum gross amount for this milestone is 3,475 Euros; however, it can only be achieved after 27 years of service. Due to the “crisis collective agreement” that was effective from March 2020 to December 2022, salaries in this professional group were reduced by 15% to 20%.
