Empowering to Serve: University of Nebraska Medical Center Leads Mental Health Training in Windom on April 20th

The Globe offers Youth Mental Health First Aid training.

On April 20th, the University of Nebraska Medical Center will be leading a training on Youth Mental Health First Aid at the Cottonwood County Historical Society in Windom. The program is specifically designed for adults and will include a light breakfast at 7:30 a.m. and lunch. Participants will gain valuable skills to identify signs of mental illness, recognize substance use disorder, offer support during a mental health crisis, and have conversations about mental health with family and friends.

The training will be conducted in Spanish by facilitators who include an outreach project specialist and a Ph.D. student. Attendees will also receive a $25 gift card and a certificate of participation upon completion of the training.
