Honoring Boise State Retirees: Celebrating Years of Service and Dedication in Health Sciences

April 9 Celebration Honoring Retiring Faculty and Staff of the College of Health Sciences

Boise State University is bidding farewell to five esteemed faculty and staff members who are retiring in the spring of 2024. The retirees being honored are Sarah Toevs, Shelle Poole, Tim Kempf, Olgie Castillo, and Shawn Dunnagan.

The entire campus community is invited to join in recognizing and appreciating these individuals for their contributions to Boise State. A special event will be held on Tuesday, April 9 from 3:00-4:30 p.m. in the Bishop Barnwell Room of the Student Union to celebrate their years of dedication and service to the university.

Olgie Castillo, a management assistant in the Department of Kinesiology who has served for 16 years, is one of the retirees being honored. Additionally, Shawn Dunnagan, a lecturer III in the School of Public and Population Health with 13 years of service, will also be recognized.

Tim Kempf, a clinical associate professor in the Department of Kinesiology who has been at Boise State for 19 years, is retiring after an impressive career at the university. Shelle Poole, a divisional dean and clinical associate professor in the School of Nursing with 13 years of service to Boise State, has dedicated her career to advancing healthcare education in Idaho.

Lastly, Sarah Toevs, a professor in the School of Public and Population Health and director of the Center for the Study of Aging with an impressive 24 years of service at Boise State University is retiring after an illustrious career at Boise State. Each retiree has made significant contributions to the College of Health Sciences and will be dearly missed by students and colleagues alike.

The College would like to express its heartfelt gratitude towards these individuals for their unwavering commitment to excellence throughout their careers at Boise State University.
