Morningside University Launches New Animal Science Minor to Benefit Siouxland Region

New Minor in Animal Science Introduced at the School of Agriculture and Aviation

In the fall of 2024, Morningside University in Sioux City, Iowa will introduce a new animal science minor. This addition reflects the university’s commitment to providing academic programs that meet the needs of the Siouxland region. Dr. Chris Spicer, provost and vice president for academic affairs at Morningside University, is excited about the new minor and believes it will provide students with valuable interdisciplinary study options.

Dr. Tom Paulsen, dean of the School of Agriculture and Aviation, emphasized the hands-on learning experiences and partnerships with local and regional agricultural organizations that will be available to students in the animal science minor. The curriculum is designed to cover animal biology, ethics, and the role of technology in animal science.
