New Trine University Degree Program Tackles Environmental Challenges and Prepares Students for Successful Careers in the Field

Trine is Introducing a New Environmental Science Degree

Trine University has recently launched a Bachelor of Science in environmental science degree program that draws upon the institution’s strengths in the sciences and engineering. The program aims to provide students with the necessary skills to tackle the environmental challenges faced by our planet. Classes for this new program will begin in August.

The Bachelor of Science in environmental science will be housed within Trine’s Rinker-Ross School of Health Sciences and is designed to prepare students for careers in various related fields such as environment, law, health and safety, and public policy. According to Lexie Staten, dean of the Rinker-Ross School of Health Sciences, the program emphasizes improving the health of our planet and its inhabitants by training professionals to collect, analyze, and interpret data related to environmental issues.

Graduates of this degree program will be equipped with hands-on fieldwork and research projects, preparing them for roles in governmental agencies, non-profit organizations, and private companies. They can pursue careers as environmental or conservation scientists, environmental educators, lawyers, environmental policy analysts or environmental health and safety specialists. The program aligns with the anticipated job growth in the field by the Bureau of Labor Services over the next decade.

Trine University has a strong track record of offering programs that lead to successful employment outcomes for graduates.
