Protect Yourself from Shingles: Join Wegmans and Hopewell Township Health Department for Clinics on April 17 and June 19, 2024

Health Department and Wegmans Partner to Host 2 Event

The Hopewell Township Health Department and Wegmans are working together to host two shingles vaccine clinics at the Pennington Borough Municipal Hall on April 17 and June 19, 2024. These clinics will offer adults over the age of 50 the chance to receive the recommended two doses of the shingles vaccine, which helps prevent the disease and its complications. Additionally, individuals between the ages of 19 and 50 with weakened immune systems should also get two doses of the vaccine due to their increased risk.

To sign up for one or both vaccines at these clinics, residents should visit the Hopewell Township Health Department website or call (609) 438-7478 to register. It’s important to note that those who only receive one dose at these clinics will need to visit Wegmans or another local pharmacy to obtain their second shot.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has more information about the shingles vaccine and its benefits on their website at cdc.gov/vaccines/vpd/shingles/. By getting vaccinated against shingles, individuals can protect themselves from this painful disease and reduce their risk of developing serious complications like pneumonia and stroke.
