Kentucky Science Center hosts exclusive solar eclipse event

The Kentucky Science Center is hosting a special event for the upcoming solar eclipse on April 8th from 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm. Located at 727 W. Main Street, the science center will offer free access to all of their activities spread across 50,000 square feet of space. Guests can expect special programming throughout the galleries, including educational sessions on the eclipse, eclipse-viewing safety, cultural interpretations of eclipses and constellations, and a chance to view the partial eclipse.

The event will also feature interactive activities such as creating pinhole cameras and streaming live coverage of the eclipse from NASA. In addition, guests can attend documentary screenings of Journey to Space 3-D, which explores NASA’s Space Shuttle program and the International Space Station.

Chief Executive Officer Mike Norman expressed his excitement about the event, calling it a once-in-20-years phenomenon that is made possible in part by a NASA Kentucky Space Grant. The science center is open seven days a week from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm and invites everyone to come and experience this unique opportunity.
